Design a 3-building office and manufacturing facility for SCHÜTZ Container Systems to house its regional offices, blow-molding operations, and metal shop. As the leading international manufacturer of high-quality packaging systems, SCHÜTZ produces IBCs (intermediate bulk containers), plastic drums, and steel drums to transport liquids and other goods.
The manufacturing buildings are constructed of tilt-up concrete. The two-story regional corporate office includes cast-in-place architectural concrete and architectural insulated metal panels with curtain wall glazing. The blow-molding facility contains numerous long-span bridge cranes, a 21,000-SF production mezzanine, depressed slab areas for equipment installation, and a finished goods warehouse area with ESFR sprinkler system for high-piled plastic storage. The metal shop includes an interior rail siding, multiple 40-ton continuous-duty bridge cranes with 79′ clear span, and deep foundations (auger cast piles).
